Budgeting

The Budget Office is responsible for facilitating the annual university budgeting process and for ensuring compliance with budgetary policy. Efforts in this office help support all faculty, staff, and administrators who have interest in, or responsibility for, university financial resources. This is accomplished in part by:

• Serving as a liaison between BYU and the Office of the Commissioner of Church Education System

• Ensuring compliance with the university and Church budget policies and guidelines

• Preparing information and providing counsel to campus units to help them prepare their annual university budget requests

• Preparing the annual university budget and budget presentation documents

• Processing requests for adjustments to the budget (both permanent and one-time)

• Acting as a "broker" for trading budgeted funds between account categories

• Preparing a monthly management report (including budget to actual comparisons) for the university administration
